Urban Equity Collaborative
The Urban Equity Collaborative (UEC) is a University of Maryland initiative that employs an intersectional, multidisciplinary, collaborative approach to community-based research, action, and collective inquiry that upholds equitable university-community partnerships. UEC strengthens community-based institutions, leaders, and organizing around critical issues of urban inequality through community-based research and policy action.
Who We Are

The UEC is led by a multidisciplinary team of University of Maryland faculty, staff, and graduate students whose research and practice centers on urban inequality, community-based and intersectional research, and urban policy. Our team holds expertise on issues of urban dispossession and displacement that are the center of the collaborative’s work, including quality affordable housing, immigrants rights, and small business displacement.
